Aren't heavier towels more luxurious than lightweight towels?
Is the core value of a bath towel in its ability to feel heavy, or ability to dry? We chose dry, and then designed for that value without compromise.
What does Onsen mean?
An Onsen (温泉) is a Japanese hot spring and the bathing facilities and inns frequently situated around them. As a volcanically active country, Japan has thousands of onsens. Growing up we used to call them the naked baths.
Where are the towels made?
A long time ago the best towel makers in Japan decided to set up operations in China with the finest machinery German engineering had to offer. The Onsen towel is made in one of the most advanced textile mills on the planet.
What makes Supima® cotton special?
Supima® cotton has an extra-long staple fiber which makes it one of the softest and finest on the planet. It’s twice as strong as regular cotton, absorbs more water than regular cotton, and even lasts longer than regular cotton. It is only grown in America, mostly in California.
To bear the Supima® trademark, products must be sourced through a licensed supply chain.
*Avoid using fabric softeners. They work by coating the fibers, which minimizes its natural ability to absorb. We recommend using 100% New Zealand Wool Dryer Balls.
